5 Things My Dogs Have Taught Me

I am absolutely obsessed with dogs. Cats and other animals have a soft spot in my heart too, but dogs are my favorite. There is just something about them that makes me so happy! They are truly a humans best friend.

I have four dogs that are all inside. They all annoy me a lot, but I wouldn’t trade them for the world. The first dog I have is Millie. She is a yorkie/shnauzer mix. Millie along with all my other dogs came from a shelter. I don’t think I will ever buy a dog that is not from the shelter. Max is my second pup that we adopted, he is a schnauzer/shih tzu. Both max and millie are my families oldest dogs, that are probably around 10 years old. After max we got Hazel(boxer/mastiff), she probably falls around the three year old mark. Rosco(german shepherd/unknown) is our newest addition, he is almost two years old. All of the dogs each have their own personality and are absolutely awesome. I have lots of funny stories about them, but I will save those for another day.

Dogs teach us a lot of things, even if we don’t realize it. They can brighten any day, and are always there for us. Here are a few things that my dogs have taught me!

Loyalty

There will never be anyone more loyal to you than your dog. Even if you were a mass murderer, your dog would love you just the same. I think that this is one of my favorite things about dogs. Every time my dog greets me at the door after getting home, or stays up late with me, it makes my heart so happy. I think everyone can learn something from this.

Don’t Judge

A dog will pretty much go up to anyone and play with them. Dogs don’t care what kind of clothes you wear, how much you weigh, how much money you make, and everything else artificial like that. Dogs just like to feel loved. I hate to admit it, but sometimes I find myself judging other people even when I have no room to do so. It is something that I work on everyday, and I thank my dog for being such a good remodel lol.

Life is Good

I don’t think that my dog ever wakes up in a bad mood. Yes, sometimes my dogs may not be feeling well, or they lost their toy, but usually my dog is always in a good mood. As humans we tend to overcomplicate and stress over things that don’t really matter. Life is short and we should be enjoying every moment of it. There is no time to worry about silly things.

Be Sociable

Dogs are some of the most sociable creatures I have ever seen. They have absolutely no problem going up to a random stranger. Usually when dogs do this they make a new friend! This goes to show that being sociable is a good thing, rather than staying in and watching Netflix for the 13th weekend in a row.

Spread Love

If you have ever been around a dog it is very noticeable how happy they are, and how much they love to spread love. Dogs have no problem with jumping on you and showering you with kisses, even if you have just met. The takeaway from this is to spread the love! It will make you a happier person and make others around you happier!

I hope you all squeeze your pups extra hard tonight. They are truly the best friends and teachers.

I hope you guys are having a great Monday!

Love.

Kate
