A Weekend in Gatlinburg, Tennessee

This past weekend my senior class and I took a trip to Gatlinburg. It was lots of fun and we visited so many places. I had never been to Gatlinburg before this trip. All the mountains were so pretty. It amazed me how cute and well kept the little town was. The town had flower beds all over and it was so lovely. It really shows how much they care about their town.

The Trip

My class and I arrived in Gatlinburg on Wednesday night. We ate at this place called Landshark. The restaraunt was so great, they even stayed open later for us. We came in with a group of 60, so considering that the service was wonderful. That night we went to bed decently early.

Thursday I woke up early and went zip lining. I didn’t get many pictures of ziplining since I didn’t take my phone up to the course, but I did get this picture of me and my friend afterwards! It was lots of fun. In my mind I had pictured that it was this one line down the mountain, but it was actually several smaller zip lines on the side of the mountain. The views were very pretty.

After ziplining our group went to the restaurant Dicks. If you have never heard of it before, it is a place where they are mean to you. I know that it probably doesn’t sound like a fun time, but I promise that it is lol. They also give you hats that have mean things written on them.

My hat said, “Voted most popular girl in the boys locker room”

After lunch we went back to our hotel and got ready to go to an aquarium. We went to Ripleys Aquarium of the Smokies. It was really cool, and one of the best aquariums I have been too. I loved it so much I am actually going to be doing a post completely describing my visit.

I got to touch jellyfish!

Thursday night we went to the Dixie Stampede. The show was pretty good, but I am not really into cheesy stuff and it was super cheesy. The food was really good though. After the show my class and I went back to the hotel, hung out for a bit, and went to bed.

Friday was our last full day in Gatlinburg and man was it eventful. We started off the morning by going to this place called Wonderworks. It was so cool. There were fun simulators and just really cool things to do. For example there was this electricity you could touch, ropes course, little roller coasters, bed of nails, ect. After that we went to a trampoline park. It was very enjoyable.

Friday afternoon/evening we went back to the hotel and hung out for about 2 hours. We ate at Blake Sheltons restaurant and it was so cool! They have live music which I am a hugeeee fan of. The whole restaurant was decorated so cool, they also had super cute light up signs. One of them is my cover photo for this post.

The restaurant is named after his dog.

After dinner we walked around and did various things downtown. My friends and I went on the skylift and it was so beautiful. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of it. The ride was a little sketchy at first because you aren’t strapped in at all and it goes super high up. But after I saw all the beautiful views I completely forgot about how high it was. I would definitely do it again, and if you do I highly recommend doing it at night!!!

I love this picture! Everyone looks so cute.

That was pretty well the roundup of the weekend. Saturday we ate breakfast at the hotel and started the 6 hour drive home. I definitely enjoyed my time there, and I am for sure coming back.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading, and are having a lovely day.

Love,

Kate
