Thoughts of the Week

The Best Piece of Advice I Have Ever Heard

I am one of those people that loves anything to do with self-help. I love inspirational quotes, books, audiobooks, people, and everything else in that realm of things. Scrolling through Pinterest, I was trying to get inspiration for something to post for this week.

Typically, I always plan blog posts out in advance. But when it comes time to post a preplanned post sometimes I am just not feeling it that day. That is what happened with this. I am feeling very inspired, and wanted to share that with all of you wonderful people. So I hope you’re having the best day ever, and let me tell you the best piece of advice I have ever heard.

This photo as well as my cover photo were taken from the website stock snap.io! Go check it out.

The Advice

“know this one great truth: you are in control of your own life. You get one and only one chance to live, and life is passing you by. Stop beating yourself up, and dang it, stop letting others do it too. Stop accepting less than you deserve. Stop buying things you can’t afford to impress people you don’t even really like. Stop eating your feelings instead of working through them. Stop buying your kids’ love with food, or toys, or friendship because it’s easier than parenting. Stop abusing your body and your mind. Stop! Just get off the never-ending track.”
― Rachel Hollis

Rachel Hollis is the most amazing person ever. I first fell in love with her when I read her first book, “Girl Wash Your Face.”

I have not yet read her second one yet, but it is definitely on my list.

Reading her books have taught me that I am in truly in charge of my own life, as well as you guys are with yours. Most things that happen to you are caused by you. I always have been and probably always will be a dreamer. One of my favorite past times is dreaming about things, as cheesy as that sounds. Used to, I thought that if I just used the law of attraction( if you don’t know what that is check it out, it is life changing!!) and prayed, all my dreams would come true.

Well come to find out that is not really how it works. You have to put forth effort and get out of your comfort zone for anything to really happen. In addition to using the law of attraction and using prayer, or at least that’s what works for me.

This picture is breathtaking! It also came from stock snap.io

Recently, I have joined a company called Arbonne. It is the most amazing company that is truly life-changing. This past weekend they had an event in Las Vegas, Nevada where everyone from Arbonne got together and celebrated what they have all achieved. I did not go this year, but I am going to be there next year!! Rachel Hollis was one of the guest speakers, (I watched the show on livestream) and she truly lit my soul on fire! She is so amazing and breathed so much life in to me.

In society, it is drilled in us that we have to go through school, get a degree, and basically work until we die. For some people that may work and doing that fills them with joy, but I really don’t want to do that. I wanna live my life by my own design. I want to be my own boss and be able to work my ass off for the life I deserve.

I know that I can do it, and I know that you can too. You can literally do ANYTHING you set your mind to. Because just think, if you couldn’t do it you wouldn’t be able to even imagine it. Everything we think about stems from something that has already been done, thought of. Therefore if it didn’t exist/wasn’t possible you wouldnt even think about it! How crazy is that?

I think I am going to end at that. I hope you guys got something from this!

Lots of love,

Kate
