The Self-Confidence Talk

Hey guys! For some reason I have been in a terrible mood today. I really hate saying that, because I know that I am the only one who can control my mood, but it has been really terrible. I was going to post about skincare products that I have been loving, but I am not really feeling that.

School is something that I have never been a fan of, but today it seemed to bother me even more than usual. Also, it is super rainy out which never helps improve my mood. But instead of whining this entire post I decided to post something beneficial.

Self Confidence

I know this picture doesn’t look like much, but my grandma and older brother were talking about self confidence. And not gonna lie we were kind of talking about it in a laughing matter, but it is a pretty serious thing that not enough people talk about.

My brother was talking about how he isn’t very confident around girls. My grandma said, “I am 63 years old and I have never had any self confidence.” That broke my heart to hear. She said that she wishes she could walk into a room and not compare herself to others. I also struggle with this sometimes. But it is crazy to me that someone has been struggling with that for 63 years. Well obviously probably not since birth but you get my point. No one should live their life like that. Lately I have been a lot better about comparison than usual, but it is still an issue sometimes. It is honestly hard to not compare myself to others.

Social media does not really help this either. However on my blog instagram I follow a lot of positive people and that really helps to lift me up as well as lift up others. This helps to not compare ourselves to each other.

Here are a couple things that I have found that have helped me to boost my self confidence:

  1. Don’t listen to that little voice in your head. Everyone or at least most people have a little voice in their head that is negative. That little voice is the one who makes you compare yourself to others. I know that it is hard, but it is crucial that you block out that little voice as best you can. Or as soon as you start to think something negative, automatically recognize it, stop it, and then say something positive to yourself.
  2. Take care of yourself- This is another big one. It is so important to take care of yourself both mentally and physically.
  3. Say affirmations and be grateful- I know that self-confidence doesn’t really have much to do with gratitude, but if you are being grateful there is no way to be negative at the same time. Also, affirmations help a lot. If you are not familiar with affirmations, they are basically just things you say to yourself over and over again. They really do help to develop positive thinking.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and if you are struggling with self-confidence just no that you are beautiful and loved. There is no one in this world like you, and you are very special to this world. God made all of us for a reason. 🙂

Hope you guys are having a lovely day.

Love,

Kate
